I wanted to say Thank You to each and every one of you for sharing your knowledge of telescopes and the night sky with my family and me. We very much appreciate you! And since my introduction at my first meeting was basically, "Hi I'm Kim and I have a Celestron and have no idea how to use it." I thought I would take a second and introduce myself and give you a better idea of who I am and what I do.

I've always loved the night sky and was introduced to the joys of Astronomy through my Mom. We didn't have a fancy telescope but my Mom's enthusiasm and the dark skies over the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia made stargazing fantastic. We looked at the Moon a lot and she would point out planets and the constellations to us. It wasn't unusual to walk out on a clear night and easily see the Milky Way and that's something I miss quite a bit here. Even to this day, my Mom still calls to remind me of events that are upcoming in the night sky and I am so thankful that she shared her passion with me and still continues too. She is why I decided to join CFAS, so I could learn more and share that with my own family.  Although we've only attended a few events we've had so much fun doing so and look forward to attending more in the future.

Professionally, I am an illustrator and hand-lettering artist! Which is how and why this wallpaper is being shared with you all. I work with brands, large and small, to help them better market and position themselves with beautiful illustrations and original lettering work.  In other words, I help companies stand out in the ever-crowded world of advertising.

I get asked a lot, "What is lettering?" The script you see in "Keep Looking Up" is a great example of lettering. It's not a canned downloaded font that I installed and keyed in what I wanted. It's all hand drawn. Lettering is basically the art of drawing letters that then turn words into beautiful unique works of art.

Have fun dressing up your phones and Thanks again.

By the way, this wallpaper is dark and continues to look great even with a red filter overlay for those nights looking up.

Keep Looking Up!
